Becoming a Foster with Tiny Life Rescue
Fostering is one of the most impactful ways to save lives. When you foster, you provide a safe, nurturing environment for animals who are too young or fragile to be adopted. Every day in foster care helps them grow stronger, healthier, and ready for their forever homes.
Our Foster Process
- Submit a Foster Application – Fill out the online Foster Application form so we can learn about your household, experience, and the type of kittens you can accommodate.
- Application Review and Interview – Our team reviews your application and may reach out for a brief phone conversation to answer questions, discuss foster expectations, and match you with the right animal.
- Foster Approval and Orientation – Once approved, you’ll receive a short orientation that covers feeding schedules, hygiene, socialization, and medical monitoring. We’ll also provide all the supplies and support you need.
- Fostering and Daily Care – You’ll care for kittens in your home, providing warmth, love, and bottle feeding (if neonatal). Our team is always available for guidance and veterinary coordination if needed.
- Graduation and Adoption Prep – When kittens reach adoption age and weight, we handle medical exams, spay/neuter appointments, and photography for their profiles. You’ll play an important role in helping them transition to their forever homes.
Why Fostering Matters
Every foster home saves lives that might otherwise be lost. Shelters rarely have the resources or staff to provide 24/7 neonatal care — but by fostering, you give these tiny lives a fighting chance. Tiny Life Rescue provides the training, supplies, and medical support; you provide the love and space that make survival possible.
Foster Agreement Contract
Thank you for choosing to foster for Tiny Life Rescue. In submitting an application you understand and acknowledge that the animal entrusted to you remains the property of Tiny Life Rescue until officially adopted or otherwise transferred by the rescue.
The foster agrees to:
- Provide a safe, clean, indoor environment.
- Provide food, water, litter and daily care as directed by Tiny Life Rescue.
- Administer medications exactly as instructed.
- Monitor the animal for illness or behavioral changes.
- Notify Tiny Life Rescue immediately if the animal becomes sick, injured, escapes or dies
- Attend scheduled veterinary appointments arranged by Tiny Life Rescue.
- Cooperate with adoption events, meet-and-greets and adoption inquiries when requested.
- Keep the rescue informed of any address or phone number changes.
- All veterinary care must be approved in advance by Tiny Life Rescue.
The foster understands:
- The animal I am fostering may have been exposed to or is susceptible to, illness or disease and may have a medical or behavioral condition that is not readily apparent.
- That any cat or kitten that taken into foster care has not been FeLV or FIV tested unless specifically noted.
The foster agrees:
- Not to seek veterinary treatment without prior approval.
- To contact Tiny Life Rescue immediately if emergency veterinary care is needed.
- That unauthorized veterinary expenses will not be reimbursed.
Ownership
The foster understands:
- The animal remains the sole property of Tiny Life Rescue.
- The foster has no ownership rights.
- The foster may not sell, give away, breed or transfer the animal.
- The foster may not authorize euthanasia.
Housing Requirements
The foster agrees that:
- Cats will remain indoors at all times.
- Dogs will not be left outdoors unattended.
- Animals will not be chained or tethered.
- Reasonable precautions will be taken to prevent escape.
- Resident pets are in good health, up to date on vaccinations and I understand that I am assuming all risk and expense related to any exposure to illness or disease that may arise as a result of my choice to take a take an animal into foster care.
Social Media & Photography Release
- Tiny Life Rescue encourages fosters to share photos and stories.
The foster agrees:
- To represent the rescue respectfully.
- Not to discuss confidential rescue matters publicly.
- Not to solicit adoption offers privately.
- To refer all adoption inquiries directly to Tiny Life Rescue.
- To allow Tiny Life Rescue to use photos taken by the foster for fundraising and adoption promotion.
Adoption
- Only Tiny Life Rescue may approve adopters and finalize adoptions.
The foster understands:
- They may express interest in adopting but must complete the same approval process as any other applicant.
- That taking an animal foster care does not imply ownership of the animal. Tiny Life Rescue reserves the right to make decisions regarding long-term care, adoption, transfer or ownership and humane euthanasia for its animal and/or it’s offspring.
- Adoption fees may not be waived without approval.
- Animals may be reclaimed by Tiny Life Rescue at any time.
